Golden Valley, MN The Main Bathroom was a complete remodel - every finish and fixture was replaced. Universal Design was a concern for this client. Design elements were added to make use of the bathroom easier for this aging couple. Handrails, a single-handle faucet, comfort height toilet and additional lighting were incorporated into the design. To ensure low maintenance, consideration was put into the selection of finishes, such as, a quartz counter top and porcelain tile on the floor and shower walls. The dated Master Bathroom was tiny in size and again, required design elements to make it easier to use. The existing neo-angle shower was like a cave - diminutive in size. We needed to make it feel larger than it really was without adding square footage. Specifying a clear glass door and side glass panel opened up the space visually and allowed more natural light to come in. Additionally, the new 12" x 24" porcelain travertine tile installed horizontally in the shower also visually expanded the shower for a more spacious feel. Handrails, a fold-down shower seat and single-handle faucet added safety and accessibility for this client. Glass tiles accent the quartz counter top and new wall sconces bring light where it is needed for shaving and make-up application. Lastly, the small Half Bath off of the clients' office had a partial update. Dated floor tile and a counter top were replaced with new porcelain slate tile and a solid surface counter top with an integral sink for ease of maintenance. A natural stone backsplash accents the deep Cinnabar color of the counter top. Although not a complete remodel, this small bath now has a fresh, new look. By maintaining a strict schedule, our client's were able to have three newly remodeled bathrooms without major interruption to their daily grooming schedule. |
