When Barb Pinto decided it was time to remodel her lower-level, walkout laundry room, she didn’t expect the result would be a welcoming, beautiful space that could be used for more than laundry. “I love the overall aesthetic and how the colors work well together in the room as well as with the lower level of our home,” said Barbara. “I can see using the room as overflow space even when we entertain.” Barb originally sought some improvements to freshen up the room, including high performance appliances and storage options for her laundry and cleaning products. Her husband’s only request was a deep sink.

Crystal Kitchen + Bath designer Val Stuessi, CKD, designed a bright, low maintenance workroom with clean lines that included painting the tired, stained woodwork, replacing an exterior door with a energy-efficient, full-lite Pella door that features mini-blinds inserted between the glass. Laminate cabinetry and countertops nicely complement the painted and glazed concrete floor. Improved lighting, ASKO under counter appliances, an Elkay sink and a pull-down spray faucet all contribute to a more functional laundry room.
