Bright accessible bathroom with curbless shower

Aging in Place

Your home should support you through every stage of life. Our Aging in Place work focuses on safety, comfort, and long-term accessibility, in spaces that are functional and beautiful rather than clinical.

Our Approach

Whether you are planning to remain in your home as you age, adapting to a physical limitation, or designing for a multi-generational household, the goal is the same: a home that works without announcing that it has been adapted. Our designers hold CAPS and CLIPP certifications, and universal design principles run through every project we take on.

What This Looks Like in Practice

Zero-clearance showers

Curbless entries with trench drains remove the step that causes most bathroom falls, and they read as a contemporary design choice rather than an accommodation.

Grab bars that belong

Integrated into the tile layout and finish schedule from the start: grab bar paper holders, soap dishes, and accent rings that do structural work without looking institutional.

Reachable storage

Pull-outs, drawer banks in place of base cabinets, drop-down shelving, and appliance placement that keeps daily items between knee and shoulder height.

Floating cabinetry

Vanities without toe kicks sit higher off the floor for easier wheelchair turning, with open space beneath the sink and side-mounted faucets within reach.

Lighting and contrast

Layered lighting, night lights concealed behind crown moulding, and horizontal tile lines that help with balance and depth perception.

Doorways and circulation

Widened openings, pocket doors where swing space is tight, and clear turning radii planned into the layout rather than retrofitted later.

See it built. Our Gracefully Aging in Place display puts these details in front of you at full scale.
